It simplifies the story, but makes room for romantic slush, dramatic clashes and Juliet’s waltzing aria “Je veux vivre” (“I want to live”). Opening Friday at the Winspear Opera House, the Dallas Opera’s production features tenor Charles Castronovo in his company debut, and returns for soprano Lyubov Petrova (previously seen here as Zerbinetta in "Ariadne auf Naxos" and Susanna in "The Marriage of Figaro") and veteran British bass Robert Lloyd (as Friar Lawrence).
